Whether you’re visiting for the first time, returning after some time away, or just exploring what church might look like for you right now, we want you to know this:
you are welcome here.
You don’t have to have everything figured out. You don’t have to know where to go or what to expect. We’ll help with that. Here's what you can expect:
What to expect on a sunday morning
Simple, welcoming and centered on Jesus.
When you arrive at Threshold Church, you’ll be greeted by friendly faces who are there to help, not to overwhelm you. Our Sunday gathering includes worship through music, prayer, and a message rooted in the Bible and relevant to everyday life. You’re welcome to participate as much or as little as you’re comfortable. It’s okay to just sit, listen, and take it in. Many people do on their first visit. You won’t be singled out or asked to do anything you’re not ready for. Come as you are. We’ll help you find your way. Our Sunday Gatherings for worship typically conclude around Noon.
When and Where we meet
Clear directions. No guesswork. Let's make this simple.
We gather for worship on Sundays at 10:15 at 517 W. 2nd Street in Newport. Parking is available on the street and in the alley. Our Street Team will be happy to point you in the right direction if you’re unsure where to go. If you have mobility or accessibility needs, we want to help, please let us know or speak with someone when you arrive.
Are You Wheelchair Accessible?
Yes! We want our space to be accessible and welcoming.
Our building has two wheelchair-accessible entrances, including access to the main floor via a spacious wheelchair lift. Family restrooms on the main floor are also designed for ease of use. If you have accessibility needs or questions when you arrive, please let someone know. We’re here to help.
What Should I Wear?
Come just as you are.
You’ll see a wide range of clothing styles on a Sunday morning. From jeans and sweaters to dresses and button-downs. There’s no dress code here. We care far more about you being here than we do about you being dressed a certain way. So come join us!
Families - babies, kids, tweens and teens
There's room here for your whole family.
We love having children with us and don’t mind a little noise. If you’d prefer, we also offer a staffed nursery and age-appropriate kids’ environments designed to help children learn about Jesus in a safe, caring space. Our kids’ ministry meets during the message portion of our gathering, and a member of our team will be happy to answer any of your questions and help you check in. Teens are an important part of our church family as well and given many opportunities to learn, serve, and grow in faith. We partner with a sister church for a weekly youth service from 6:30-8:30 on Wednesday evenings. We'd love to tell you more about that. Our goal is to partner with families and help every age learn about Jesus in an age appropriate envirronment. Special events for kids, teens and families happen throughout the year as well.
Is There a Place for Me?
Absolutely
We believe faith grows best in relationship - relationship with God and with each other. While our groups change with seasons and needs, there are opportunities to connect through Bible studies, shared meals, games, and simply spending life together. If you’re looking for a place to belong, let us help you find a group or connection that fits where you are right now.
Will I Be Asked to Do Anything?
No pressure. We are just glad you are here!
You won’t be singled out, asked to stand up and speak or approached individually to give. Feel free to chat with someone, ask questions and learn more - we're here for that, If you would rather quietly attend and head out afterward, that's perfectly okay, too. You’re welcome to engage at your own pace.
After the service
Stay and chat, or head out. It's up to you.
Some people linger to talk and connect. Others slip out quickly. Both are completely fine. If you’d like to meet with someone, learn about small groups, or find your next step, we're here when you're ready.
